A Fantastic Evening at Party for Parkinson's!

After a brief rain shower as our Party got underway, and a gorgeous rainbow, we had a beautiful night!  Over 250 people enjoyed fabulous food, beverage options, the silent auction, and of course, Weekend Weather Band under the big tent out back.  We were even blessed to have special visitors from The Michael J. Fox Foundation here with us, Veronique and Mod, to cheer us on!  The DeLorean dried off (thanks to Michael) and those who wanted to posed for a picture, which was printed on site thanks to Neil and Tim; a picture that our guests could then take home with them.  Our Volunteers helped throughout the day and the evening to set the stage for a fantastic event that looks to be coming close to $30,000 in raised monies for Parkinson's awareness, research and patient support!

We're still accepting donations and purchases of the remaining unsold silent auction items, so in a few more days, we'll be able to finalize the numbers and confirm that our goal is met :)  Yay!!  So fun, so rewarding.  Thanks to all of our Sponsors and all of our In-Kind Sponsors; to all of you who donated to this effort even though you couldn't attend, and then thanks to those who came to help us celebrate the possibility of life without PD.

Thank you!!  Jim Beth Murray
Soon, more pictures will be posted of the band, our guests, and the Party!     Go here to view the DeLorean photo shoot:

Event: "Party for Parkinson’s"

with "Weekend Weather" Band - organized by Team Fox

To benefit: The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research

and the Parkinson's Support Group in Larimer County

Concept & Info:

We will have a ‘ticketed’ event (that is at least a $50 per person donation) at 130 Palmer Drive, Fort Collins, hosted by Jim and Beth Murray. This event will be on Thursday, July 21, 2011 to raise money to support Parkinson’s disease research by The MJFF, and funding also for our local support group. We will send out approximately 1000 invitations through the mail, and also will send an e-vite to an extensive list. We hope to have about 350 attend the event. Our ‘tickets’ are in the form of paid donations to The MJFF, and a listing of each donation name or group will be at our check-in station at the entrance to the event. Most donations and ‘tickets’ will be purchased and reserved in advance. Our local support group will be the beneficiary of our on-site concessions, such as purchased photos, bar bracelets, and guided home tours.

Our Sponsors will have an opportunity to be included on all of the media materials, the invitations, the web page, and to display materials, banners, and advertising at the event. Our Master of Ceremonies will have ‘spot-ads’ for our sponsors & highlight our auction donations during the event. We will provide a Band, catered food, drink, and silent auction areas, all from Sponsorships, and donations from within our community. We will set up a ‘station’ at which The Michael J. Fox Foundation materials, Team Fox fundraising materials, and information about our local Support Group will be displayed and additional donations will also be accepted toward our goals of $3000 to the Parkinson’s Support Group in Larimer County, and $29,000.00 to The MJFF for Parkinson’s Research at the Team Fox event. We will have the capability to accept purchased auction item payments, purchased bar bracelets, and additional donations at computer stations for credit card use, and accept checks and cash as well.

Our Team Fox Goal is to raise money that will go toward research and local support for families that live with PD. The ultimate goal is to end the suffering caused by this disease, and to finding a cure for Parkinson’s Disease!
